Discussion:
Transferring big files from guest to host - how to?

I have VPC 2007 with XP guest running on a XP host.
VM Additions are installed.

I wanted to transfer two files from the guest system
to the host by dragging and dropping. First File (3GB)
was transferred correctly. Second file (6 GB) however
was not. The dropped file on the host system was only
of size 2.4 GB. There was no error message. And there
was enough free space on the host. Both guest and
host are formated with NTFS.

Are there any limitations for file transfer in VM additions?
Is it a bug or a feature? Any idea how to transfer "big"
files (in one step)?

TIA

I've dragged and dropped files between guest and host much larger than 6 GB,
so I don't think that could be the problem. However, you might try creating
a shared folder in the guest. You should also be able to access the folder
on either guest or host using normal UNC paths.
